Websites and web apps
built to be used

A sharp landing page or a full product with logins and dashboards. We design it, build it and keep it fast and accessible. You work with Chris Conen. Architect and Astra write, test and review the code under his supervision.

What’s included

Websites & web apps.

Every engagement covers design, build and the checks that decide whether the site is usable. Scope follows the job, from a single page to an application your team runs day to day.

01

Brand, UX and interface design

We shape the look, the structure and the interface so the page is clear on a phone and obvious to use.

02

Motion and interactive storytelling

3D, motion and interactive sequences where they help the story. They stay light enough to keep the page fast.

03

Fast front ends

We build on Next.js, Astro, WordPress, Sanity or WebGL, and tune for Core Web Vitals on real devices.

04

WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility

We build and check to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and review relevant Level AAA items such as headings, links and transcripts.

05

Accounts, dashboards and admin

Web apps with sign-in, customer dashboards and admin tools, so your team can run the product without us in the middle.

06

Technical SEO and content structure

Clean URLs, metadata, headings and a content model your editors can keep, so search engines and people can both follow it.

See it in action

See the speed, then the range

The race is a real rebuild: Marina Yacht Sport’s online store against our new build (launching late 2026), mobile PageSpeed 69 → 97 and Largest Contentful Paint 4.0 s → 2.4 s, measured the same morning. Below it, live concept builds you can open and explore.

Use cases

Where it makes a difference.

Typical Australian businesses we build this for. Examples, not client stories.

A Gold Coast surf shop

The situation
The current site is slow on mobile and the new season's boards are hard to find.
What we do
We rebuild the shopfront with a clear range, fast pages and product content your staff can update.
The outcome
Shoppers reach the right board quickly, and the site stays readable on a phone at the beach.

A Sydney plumber

The situation
Enquiries arrive by phone because the website does not explain the work or make booking obvious.
What we do
We design a local site with plain service pages, suburb coverage and a short enquiry path.
The outcome
People see what you do and how to book before they call, including after hours.

A Melbourne B2B supplier

The situation
Trade customers chase quotes by email and staff retype the same orders.
What we do
We build a signed-in catalogue with account pricing, an order dashboard and an admin view for your team.
The outcome
Customers place repeat orders themselves, and your staff spend less time on the same paperwork.

How it works

Clear steps. No surprises.

  1. 01

    One brief, in writing

You brief Chris in writing. No account managers and no meetings. We agree what the site must do, who it is for, and whether it is a page or a product.

  2. 02

    Design and structure

We set the brand, the interface and the content structure, including motion or 3D only where it earns its place.

  3. 03

    Build, test, review

Architect and Astra write, test and review the code under Chris's supervision. We check speed, accessibility and the paths your customers take.

  4. 04

    Launch and hand over

We put it live across Australia, show your team the admin tools, and leave the content model ready for you to run.

Questions

Good to know.

Do you use AI to build the site?

Yes. AWA is open about it. Architect and Astra, our AI engineers, write, test and review code. Chris Conen supervises that work and is your only point of contact, Australia-wide. There is no account manager between you and the build.

What does accessible mean on a site you build?

We work to the Australian Human Rights Commission’s April 2025 guidelines on equal access to digital goods and services, which recommend WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a minimum. They are not legally binding, and this is not legal advice: for a compliance opinion, ask a lawyer.

How do you judge whether a page is fast?

We use the thresholds in Google's web.dev article on Core Web Vitals, last updated 7 May 2025. At the 75th percentile, Good is LCP at or under 2,500 ms, INP at or under 200 ms, and CLS at or under 0.1. Poor is LCP over 4,000 ms, INP over 500 ms and CLS over 0.25.

Can you build a web app, or only a marketing site?

Both. A landing page when that is the job. A web application when you need accounts, dashboards and admin tools. The same engagement covers interface design, a fast front end and the content structure behind it.

Are the demos client projects?

The speed race is a real 2026 rebuild for Marina Yacht Sport in Europe: the new store launches in late 2026, and both versions were measured the same morning. The grid shows live concept demos, and the Work page holds 54 concept builds. Use cases such as a surf shop or a plumber are typical Australian businesses, not clients.

Tell us what the site has to do

Send one brief. Chris replies in writing with whether you need a page or a product, and what we would design, build and check.

Next step

Let’s build what’s next.

We work in writing, so every decision is on record and time zones don’t matter. Send a five-minute brief and get a written plan and a fixed quote within two business days, from Chris, not a sales team.
